Here are our dupes for MAC Taupe, which is a very warm-toned, medium-dark brown with a matte finish. It is a permanent lipstick that retails for $20.00 and contains 0.1 oz. MAC Twig – Soft muted brownish pink, satin finish – 4-5 hours wear time MAC Taupe – muted reddish-taupe brown colour. Ideal for office wear;more of a brown colour with a very slight orange-red tone compliments asian skin tones.

I always like to start off with the packaging. Portable hard disk for mac. MAC Cosmetics iconic packaging is a black, minimal and bullet-like. I love how my MAC lipstick collection looks on my make-up vanity and I can't wait to fill all the 24 spots in my lipstick holder! I also like the shape of MAC lipsticks. They're not too round, making it easy to apply your lipstick very precisely without a lip brush.

This time, I have two swatches to show you. MAC Cosmetics describes Taupe as an muted reddish-taupe brown. Wow, that's some color description. I would never have called this lipstick ‘Taupe', because this isn't taupe at all. It's a very orange-y, red-toned brown, which looks more like cinnamon or something. No cool-toned taupe at all. The lipstick is a matte, but is still pretty shiny for a real matte lipstick. The pigmentation is very nice, which is usually the case with MAC lipsticks. I also swatched MAC Lip Pencil in Spice, just because it's the PERFECT match for MAC Taupe. You can find the review about MAC Spice here.

This is how Taupe looks on my lips. I always add a photo of my bare lips, just for comparison. It doesn't dry out my lips and is very comfortable to wear for a matte lipstick. It's also completely opaque. Taupe looks like a more brown version of my natural lip color to be honest, and I really dig it. Definitely a great MAC lipstick shade!

This is how the lipstick looks with my full face of make-up. I love it! I always like to wear orange and red tones on my eyes, especially in the Fall time. This lipstick is essential for me, because it has the perfect undertone for those kinds of looks. It's also still fairly neutral, so you could wear it with a lot of different make-up looks. Also, this color would look great on darker skintones, so it's definitely a color for everybody!

In my opinion, this lipstick is a yay. I know MAC Taupe is not everybody's color, but I do think it's a perfect brown for (early) Fall. Now that school is starting and shit, my mind immediately starts thinking in warm colors, such as burnt orange and cinnamon. This lipstick goes perfectly with that picture! I would definitely recommend this shade if you're starting with Fall and Winter make-up shopping. Especially paired with MAC Spice Lip Pencil, this is a too die for combo!

If MAC x Ariana Grande Viva Glam Lipglass is my first MAC product, MAC Taupe is my first lipstick. Truth be told, I adore Lily Macapinlac‘s face (Lily Maymac on IG), especially her lips and her lipsticks so much as it complements her already beautiful face. Found out that she uses the matte Taupe so I readily purchased one.

According to the MAC site, Taupe is a 'Muted reddish-taupe brown [Matte]'.

A classic color in a classic MAC box, love.

Kronos slot machine. Based on pictures online, it was not really obvious that MAC's matte lipsticks are a bit tiny, daresay quite more narrow than the usual, compared to brands like Make Up For Ever, Revlon, Estee Lauder etc.

Swiping once and swatching Taupe on my hand, it looks very ordinary. Like really ordinary. Yet somehow, it looks so great on v/bloggers I've seen. Oh, and have you seen KathleenLights with this on? God, she looks perfect!

The lipstick glided easily on my lips. This is definitely one of the lipsticks that are very convenient and trouble-free to use.

It is very pigmented – I only swiped once and look how vibrant it is once applied! Mouse button 3 mac.

Ugh, instantly falling in love with Taupe. It looks so beautiful on my lips (and I think, on everyone else's). Taupe is a pretty brown shade with a red undertone, and it most certainly felt like an MLBB (My Lips But Better – Lipsticks that enhance your lip color; it is also the closest shade to your lips).

Dupe For Mac Taupe Lipstick

Hydrating: ★★★★☆
It felt rather… moisturizing as opposed to the matte liquid lipsticks that I use all the time. But, as I've said on my past Ariana Grande lipglass post, MAC seems to hate my lips and as moisturizing as it may seem on the first, it dries my lips sometimes (yes, with the skin sticking out of my lips I cringe ; v ;).

Longevity: ★★★☆☆
Unfortunately, this lipstick does not last me a day – I have to retouch after eating and every after a couple of hours. Just one wipe of a wet tissue easily erased the lipstick.

Overall: ★★★★★
Still love Taupe nevertheless and will definitely purchase one again in the future!
